Carpenters 'Lovelines'

This isn’t really much of an update as it is some of my own observations…

--Last Tuesday night, I went to the Greensboro Coliseum for a taping of Extreme Championship Wrestling (pales in comparison against the original ECW) along with Friday night’s Smackdown!.

Goat Boy and I only had 3rd row seats, but we managed to find 2 vacant front row seats with Adam, Jimmy, Amberly, and the Boogie Woogie Man Rob McBride.

In my opinion… It was kind of a boring night.

Goat Boy left his seat to use the bathroom and grab a beverage of some type. When he came back, I noticed that his drink had foam on the top. But it couldn’t have been beer because it wasn’t in a “beer cup”. The coliseum serves beer in clear plastic cups. It was in some sort of brown paper cup.

“What are you drinking, Goat?” I had to ask.

“A virgin daiquiri,” he answered with no shame at all in his voice just before taking a big ol’ slurp.

I don’t know what’s wrong with that boy. We go to a WWE event that’s perceived as a manly type of outing… And he chooses a rather feminine drink. He wasn’t drinking just a daiquiri… He was drinking a VIRGIN daiquiri.

I felt a slight embarrassment just being next to him at that point.

I’m going with him to the Bruce Springsteen show. I’m wondering what other type of feminine tricks he has up his sleeve.

--The other day, I was preparing the Rock 92 van for a remote when I heard the Ice Cream truck driving through the neighborhood. It’s not an unusual occurrence… We hear the truck driving through almost every day.

But this one day was kind of different… It was the tune that I heard playing. Instead of “Pop Goes The Weasel”, “This Old Man”, or some other popular childhood song… The truck was pumping out an ice cream truck version of Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender” through its speaker system.

I don’t know why I found that odd, but I think Elvis would have been proud knowing that one of his tunes were luring children to an ice cream truck.

--Tonight I’m venturing over to Winston-Salem’s Bowman Gray Stadium for some old school Saturday night racing!

I hear that the beer garden seating can be a little dangerous and fortunately I’ll be in one of the suites enjoying all the racing action. It’ll be my first time visiting Bowman Gray’s Bull Ring.

I’ll try to let you know all about my experiences tomorrow.

Thanks for checking in!
