Rhino Bucket 'Rhino Bucket'

I must say that I’m glad that I picked February for such stupid shenanigans that I usually get involved with. I’m talking about my Free Food February.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about… I’m trying to live on the food that comes into the station. There’s food at meetings. Food is brought in by vendors and advertisers. And when some folks show up with the 2 Guys Named Chris show on Rock 92... They’ll bring some food in.

During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays… There’s enough free food around the station to fill Carolina Crusher. January also had quite a bit of free food, but February… Not so much. Just today for our promotional “feeding” meeting… I was still expecting and HOPING for sandwiches.

What did we get? A veggie tray. A stinking veggie tray.

Don’t get me wrong… I grazed through the broccoli like a dragster burns a quarter mile track… And I ate my share of tortilla chips to go along with it… But all that broccoli is going to do one thing… Gas me up like a dragster! That’s all they need at Rock 92 / 1075KZL studios… Eugene ripping through the hallways and dusting crops.

I couldn’t believe that we didn’t have sandwiches for the entire month of February. Nice, fulfilling sandwiches with enough left over to fix another for the next day. And I have no doubt whatsoever that we’ll have sandwiches next week. It’ll be just my luck.

Here’s the breakdown of food ingested today for Free Food February:

Wednesday

Broccoli, tortilla chips, and Ranch dressing
1 S’mores cookie
1 iced brownie (all from meetings at the station)
3 slices of Pizza Hut Pizza (courtesy of Mom)

--As expected, I got Chinatown in the mail from Netflix today. I was so excited that I had to sit down and eat a brownie. I just don’t know… I’m not looking forward to seeing this movie again. I’m trying to be positive about it, but I found it to be a snooze-fest 20 some years ago and I’m in no hurry.

The other flicks I got today were Oceans Thirteen, Ratatouille, and a disc of the TV series Monk from season 2.

I’m looking most forward to… You guessed it… Ratatouille. I personally don’t think Pixar has put out a bad picture yet. Although, it did take a couple of viewings to see the magic in A Bug’s Life. I didn’t like it at first.

Maybe I should just rip off the bandage and throw that damned Chinatown into the DVD player and just get it over with. Perhaps I’ll be mildly surprised.

Awww...sorry. I totally meant to check on the menu and see when sandwiches were coming back up on the roster. And, yeah, I think they are going to be on the menu next week. :-( I owe you a burger and fries.

  2. Oh, that's all right... You're too beautiful to be angry with... No need for the burger and fries.

    :)
