Skye Sweetnam 'Noise From The Basement'

I finally got around to watching the second episode of this season’s Nip/Tuck and I must say that my gut was right.

Christine asked me last night if I wanted to know the big “bombshell” about Julia’s love life. Since I don’t enjoy spoilers of any kind, I declined.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to know what is going to happen on their favorite TV programs, movies, or even professional wrestling. The concept totally baffles me.

Personally, I’m not one for surprises. I don’t like them. I’ve never liked the thought of anyone throwing me a surprise party and I certainly don’t like being surprised on Christmas. It makes me uncomfortable because those who make the surprise expect a certain reaction… And so far in my life, my reactions haven’t really matched those expectations. Oh sure, there are a handful of times where I’ve exceeded those expectations. A rare occurrence I assure you.

When it comes to watching my television shows, movies, or professional wrestling… I like surprises. It’s fun for me to guess where the storyline is going and very satisfying when I guess correctly.

Nip/Tuck didn’t surprise me at all. I wanted to tell Christine that my gut was telling me that Julia was going lesbian, but I didn’t want her to confirm that gut instinct. I’m sure she would be able to dance around the truth, but Christine isn’t all that great at lying. Oh she’s great with the truth… In which I got a full dose of her true feelings about a different subject during the same phone call.

The new cast member and Julia’s love interest is someone that I didn’t know existed until I saw her on Arrested Development. After that, I found out that she also appeared on Ally McBeal. I’m talking about Portia de Rossi. They couldn’t have picked a more yummy lesbian for Julia.

When I first saw her in Arrested Development, I wasn’t that impressed with the skinny blonde. I’ve never been a big fan of skinny or blonde, but over time… Portia de Rossi grew on my north side like a thick patch of moss.

So as you can imagine… I’m am THRILLED to see her added to the cast of Nip/Tuck. Man o’ man… The current season just keeps getting better and better.
