The Non-Conformist Cult Radio Show 9/12/03

The guys are the True Brothers, a country duo from Greensboro. And they're pictured in the album stacks at WFQS.

Every blog entry is the musical choice that I’m listening to for the day. Today’s choice is a cassette copy of my old college radio show broadcast on Guilford College’s WQFS. My standard airtime was Friday nights 8 to 10. It was extremely fun doing the show and I sincerely miss it. I could call all the shots and since my show was a free-form type of deal, I could play anything I wanted within reason and within the rules set by the FCC. But I usually played the CD’s in the station’s rotation in order to keep my show sounding up to date for the kids out there. You could hear Night Ranger right next to Cat Power. Maybe Evan Olson after some Tiger Bear Wolf. Perhaps a KISS tune before The Donnas… I sincerely miss doing that show.

This entry is going to be short because I’ve been so busy this week. Working 10 to 12 hours a day with very little “me” time is starting to wear on me. My Netflix addiction has been suffering and I’m feeling the pangs of withdrawal every time I see the unwatched DVD’s sitting on the entertainment center. And I’m having withdrawal symptoms when it comes to my nephew Preston. We have a DVD from season one of The Adventures Of Pete And Pete and we haven’t had the “buddy” time to watch but a couple of episodes last week.

So thanks for checking out the blog and I appreciate the support with my ban from the 2 Guys Named Chris show. I will have a good long update on Monday.

If that is the Pete and Pete that I'm thinking of, then it was the 2nd greatest show on Nickeldeon behind Salute Your Shorts....
