KISS ‘Ace Frehley’ ’78 solo album

I didn’t get to see much of the Super Bowl last night. I didn’t even really get to see that many commercials. Lady D and I were working a remote from JP Looney’s in High Point. The place was packed with Steelers fans. I managed to see only one Seahawks fan in the mix, but I’m sure that he left during the half-time show.

Speaking of half-time shows, what’s the deal? Why are we Americans allowing artists from other countries to perform during our Super Bowl? Did KC & The Sunshine Band perform during the World Cup finals last year? Was Meatloaf the performer highlight from the World Cricket finals?

I don’t get it.

Don’t get me wrong. I like the Rolling Stones. I just don’t like them performing during an American tradition like the Super Bowl. Last year’s bowl featured Paul McCartney and it would be fine if he were an American.

For some reason, that really sticks in my craw.

I wanted Seattle to win the Super Bowl because they were a first timer to big dance, but deep down inside my dark little heart… I knew that Pittsburgh was going to win.

I wrote about the “weird” charge that I didn’t make showing up on my bank statement a week ago. Somehow, someone got my check card numbers and made an unauthorized purchase. Now I have to sign a statement and have it notarized before being credited. And on Saturday, I finally received my NEW check card.

When I first got a check card, it only took 3 days to receive it. The replacement took 8 days to get here. Do you know how tough it can be to live life without an ATM card?

Last Friday, I broke down and went to the bank to cash a check. I didn’t want to do it for some weird reason… Most likely, it was my own laziness.

I was very pleased when the card arrived in the mail. I practically broke out in a “Snoopy dance” when I bent the envelope a little in order to detect a new plastic card inside. I was back to my cashless ways!

Preston and I watched ‘Ghostbusters’ last Friday and he learned a couple of new words… He learned the words “sh*t” and “pissed”. I didn’t realize those words would be in that movie. ‘Ghostbusters’ was made before the PG-13 came into being. Oh well…

I was proud of Preston when he used a quote from the film for his grandmother. He said, “The Mayor is going to be pissed!” Sure, it caused a few looks and evoked the rage from a bible-toting Southern Baptist woman, but he had to learn the hard way.

Preston was also thrilled to find another word to use instead of “poop”. I’m sure that it will find it’s way from his lungs and into the open air when the preacher is around.

I had no idea that those words were used in the film. You just forget about those things over the years. I haven’t seen ‘Ghostbusters’ since it ran on HBO back in the 80’s. I don’t plan on subjecting him to ‘Ghostbusters 2’ because it’s truly a bad movie. I will look for the cartoon that came out. I never saw it; so if any of you know that we shouldn’t watch it because it’s terrible, please let me know.

Have you ever had a Sweet Potato pie from Bo-Jangles?

I’m craving one right now!

Normally, I don’t go for fast food desserts because it’s usually regulated to Hot Apple pies or something involving fruit. Those are things that I don’t normally eat. But those Bo-Jay’s Sweet Potato pies are the BOMB!

I’m thinking about a Cajun Filet Biscuit combo with seasoned fries and a pie. Damn!

    Bwahahahahah. I told you so.

And damn you for making me want a Bojangle's Cajun Filet Biscuit. I'm doing my damndest to avoid fast food and I'm seriously hungry and now that's what I want for dinner. Sigh.

My mouth says "Yes, yes, yes".

But my ass says "OH HELL NO".
