Your Television Premiere Dates for the week of March 14 - 20, 2016

NEWS

Freeform announced last week that ‘Switched At Birth’ will end with season five. And USA announced that their last “fluffy” show ‘Royal Pains’ will end with its eighth season. USA has been going after grittier programming and ‘Royal Pains’ is the last survivor.

PREMIERE DATES

Tuesday, March 15
- ‘Awkward’ is back for a fifth season on MTV. Look for it at 10pm (all times EST). And that’s followed by the season three premiere of ‘Faking It’ also on MTV at 10:30pm.

Wednesday, March 16
- ‘Schitt’s Creek’ is back for a second season on Pop at 8pm.
- ‘Nashville’ returns from its winter break at 10pm on ABC.
- ‘Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders’ debuts on CBS at 10pm. Just like the original, ‘Criminal Minds’, it’s for the simple-minded that enjoy easy who-done-it police procedurals that CBS is so fond of filling their airtime with. And who can blame CBS? It's certainly popular with those over 40 who like to just vegetate with little thinking done on the viewers behalf.
- And ‘The Americans’ is back on FX at 10pm. If you aren’t onboard with this seriously overlooked gem, what are you waiting for?! This series made my Best New Shows of 2013 and it’s still going strong.

Thursday, March 17
- ‘Gigolos’ is back for a sixth season at 11pm on Showtime.

Friday, March 18
- ‘Daredevil’ is back for a second season on Netflix. This series just missed making my Top Five Best New Shows of 2015.

Sunday, March 20
- ‘Crowded’ debuts at 9:30 on NBC. It’s a Patrick Warburton vehicle for bad comedy. And reviews have not been kind to this series.

NETFLIX

Tuesday, March 15
- ‘Power Rangers Dino Charge’ Season 1 part 2

Wednesday, March 16
- ‘Happy Valley’ Season 2

Friday, March 18
- ‘The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show’ Season 2
