Various Artists 'Warner Bros. Summer Sampler 2000'

How do you like the new look of my blog? Have you even noticed?

It’s not like I set out to change it. The change came about because Blogger told me that I had a “follower” and asked me to “click here” to add them.

Wouldn’t you know it… One little click led to an hour’s worth of resetting everything. I couldn’t have “followers” with the old layout. Oh no… I needed an all over update. I had to jump through hoops. I ducked flying HTML. There were flaming balls of binary code. I’m just not that good with some of the computer stuff that any 10 year old can knock out in 5 minutes.

But you know what?

After all that labor and anxiousness, I kind of dig it.

--Speaking of change… I’m getting new glasses this week.

I have money in a flex account to supplement the health insurance (which has gone away) that I have to empty out by the end of the month. I figured the easiest way to get rid of the bulk of it would be to update my look with a new pair of glasses. The rest of the cabbage can be spent on medicines and other supplies.

It took me 15 or so minutes to pick out some new frames. I decided to get with the times and go with a pair of those popular rectangular frames. If rectangular frames are good enough for hot Governors running for the Vice Presidency, then they’re good enough for me. Who knows? Perhaps they’ll make me just as foxy.

I am going to miss the health insurance… It looks like I’ll be back on the “what doesn’t kill me will make me stronger” health plan. I spent seven straight years on that plan before, so I’m used to walking that tightrope. If I get sick, I get sick or it kills me. If my appendix decides to balloon up and go postal on me… I won’t go to a doctor or hospital unless I am carried there after passing out from the pain. That’s just the way it has to be.

Hopefully my lucky streak will continue.

--I have a problem tonight with my television habits.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles comes on at 8pm while the Heroes clip/get-caught-up show airs at the same time. Then as Heroes makes its premiere at 9pm, there’s a new episode of The Closer on TNT.

Those bastards at TNT aren’t repeating the new episode at midnight like they have been doing, so I guess I’m going to have to miss that one. Maybe I can catch it online.

I’m actually thinking about catching all the shows online. It takes less time to watch the online episodes because of the lack of commercials. I have a hard time sitting and watching a television show as it airs because of all the commercials. I’m sure I’ll get distracted and start playing Hexic on my Zune. I usually find myself getting away from the television during the commercial break and find out that I’ve missed something when I return.

Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to deal with it.

Here's a video from today's musical selection and I don't know why k.d. lang didn't score a big hit with it. I'm blaming the fickle youth of our time... The little bastards.

Tonight's episode of The Closer isn't new. It had its season finale last week.

The whole paragraph about your health insurance would be the same whether you had insurance or not. You never went to the doctor anyway babe. They can't turn you away in case of emergency so you will be just fine.
