E.L.O. 'Face The Music'

I broke a long standing rule of mine today. A rule that’s been in place since I’ve been drinking legally… I visited a bar on a “drinking” holiday.

I couldn’t help it! I had the kind of day that most people would attach a brown type of expletive to with an extra “TY” tagging along. So I gave in, along with some of my other coworkers and headed towards Natty Greene’s for a few “Coke Colas”.

I resisted the green beer.

Since I’ve reached legal drinking age, I’ve never… EVER… Had a green beer.

I just don’t “buy” into “drinking holidays”. I don’t need a holiday to drink. All I need is the booze in front of me… Or just the sheer pleasure of drinking a beer… Or many beers. I had to leave Natty’s shortly after 7pm because the place was starting to fill up with “amateurs”.

You know the types… The ones you don’t see on a regular basis. The folks that are loud and abrasive. The ones where the bartenders have to inquire about their adult beverage of choice. And lets not forget about the cigarettes you have to dodge to keep from getting burned because the place is packed more than usual.

I don’t like it. So go ahead and call me an old curmudgeon. I don’t care.

--Over the weekend, I managed to watch a couple of movies from Netflix.

First of all… I enjoyed The Whole Nine Yards, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It wasn’t a knee-slapper. It didn’t make me want to go out and buy it. It was just entertaining. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars on Netflix.

Next up… Live Free Or Die Hard starring Bruce Willis.

From all the previews that I saw on other DVD’s… The storyline looked a little too “way out there” and the special effects along with the stunts seemed too over the damn top. I actually considered dropping it from my queue, but something told me to hold off on that BS and give it a try.

As like all the other Die Hard movies… It was a damn fun ride. I completely threw out my suspension of disbelief and just enjoyed it for what it was… Sure, there were things so unbelievably over the top that caused me to groan… But Live Free Or Die Hard got 4 out of 5 stars from me.

--Thanks for checking back on this here little blog of mine… Things have gotten really busy and alcohol-inducing for me this month. I just haven’t been updating like I should. I will try to do better my friends.
