Happy New Year!
How about James Brown’s farewell tour?
They took his corpse around the country for one final series of shows complete with three costume changes. Amazing!
President Ford wasn’t to be out done; he had a farewell tour as well. He was carted all around the country with 4 costume changes. Gerald was dressed once in a blue suit, another time in a black suit, a tacky golfing outfit complete with one of those flat hats, and a pair of blue jeans along with his favorite Paul McCartney and Wings tour shirt.
The past week has been crazy!
Saddam Husein was hanged in Iraq. And for the life of me, I cannot understand why there would be even a fraction of people upset about his death. Personally, I was hoping that it would be on pay-per-view.
It didn’t happen. The other pay-per-view non-event on my wish list was a night’s full of loving with Melissa Etheridge and Lou Diamond Phillips’ ex-wife, Julie Cypher. If I’m going to dream, I’m always going to include lesbians.
I shouldn’t get sidetracked here…
There’s something that I don’t get about Iraqi’s… When they celebrate, they grab a rifle or some other kind of firearm, go outside, and send bullets into the skies.
Last week I was reading in the Greensboro News & Record about a well educated professor who did just that. Yeah! He’s a man with an education and a piece of lambskin to prove it. But as soon as Saddam’s heart hits that last beat, Dr. Shotgun has his barrel blazing.
I’m starting to think that there’s not much difference between Middle Easterners and West Virginians (I am a West Virginian by birth). Because I can guarantee you that many rounds were fired into the West Virginian skies on New Year’s Day. The Mountaineers of WVU finally scored a victory in a Gator Bowl!
The Georgia Tech and West Virginia University college football bowl game was the first time that I actually sat down and watched a full college game. For some reason, I really liked it.
Now I will admit that I had my doubts after halftime. I felt for sure that WVU wouldn’t be able to come back, but they proved me wrong and it was exciting. I might actually watch some games next season instead of finding something better to do with my time.
I’ve been pricing WVU football jerseys online too! I still haven’t found where I can get one personalized with my name and number.
And speaking of personalized jerseys… After being on this Earth for 40 years, I finally got a Redskins personalized jersey for Christmas. It’s the white jersey with the number “66” and my name on the back. Even though I have never completely seen Christmas Story, I feel like I was finally given a Red Rider BB gun.
Let Heaven and nature sing!
I’ve also been dabbling on my MySpace page and making a few improvements. I don’t really know why I’ve been doing it. I’m not interested in meeting up with teenage girls or acquiring as many friends as possible. As soon as I find out, I will let you know. And if you wanna check out my page in the works, by all means do so…

I haven't watched a complete bowl game at this writing, but the fourth quarter and overtime of Monday night's Fiesta Bowl was great.
ReplyDeleteI doubt the alleged championship game between Ohio State and Florida will top it. Of course, Buckeyes fans and Gators fans will be inclined to disagree with me.
Ooo..ooo...ooo...I was waiting for you to mention something worldly to try this!
ReplyDelete*cough cough*...ahem...
"Good for you for trying to think a little more about the world around you. A little bit more awareness and a little bit less 'American'. Sad how the people who left other comments felt implored to comment on the shallow, meaningless part of your blog rather than the important,"
uh...hanging...life taking...exploding parts.
"Just goes to show the mind-set of most of our country. And even sadder? They are the ones having children...
You may want to delete this comment, since it is pretty insulting to your friends."
That was awesome! I feel so much better than everyone else now!
Come on everybody...try it! You can feel better than everyone too!
Oh wait...maybe I should've waited for more comments...crap...
One of the reproducing masses...
