Pat Benatar ‘Get Nervous’

I don’t want to sound as if my mind is going weak, but I have to admit that I enjoyed the movie, Bringin’ Down The House.

It stars Queen Latifah, Steve Martin, and Eugene Levy. I put it on my Netflix queue a long ways back with a little trepidation. A friend, I don’t remember which friend, told me that they enjoyed it and I would too. The only reason that I considered was the fact that Queen Latifah was in it. You can call me whatever you want or tell me that I have in fact lost my mind, but I won’t care. I find Queen Latifah kinda hot.

The first couple of minutes, I had my doubts about Bringin’ Down The House. It started out kind of sweet and boring, but it finally kicked in. Eugene Levy was hilarious with his comments about the “Cocoa Goddess” Queen Latifah. And I had a few “laugh out loud” moments, but I wouldn’t say that the film was great… I just found it enjoyable. I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars on Netflix.

I also watched Lonesome Jim starring Liv Tyler and directed by Steve Buscemi. The film moved like a sit-in protester… Not at all. But it was a good character study type of flick. Again, I’m giving this 3 out of 5 stars too. I wanted to give it more, but I just couldn’t find that extra star because of the film’s pacing.

Do you find Liv Tyler attractive?

I don’t. Does that make me weird?

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I think it has something to do with her mouth. I’m using a line from Rodney Dangerfield here, “But the last time I saw a mouth like that… It had a hook in it”.

I don’t think that she’s as repulsive as Angelina Jolie though. For me, she’s along the same lines as Julia Roberts. In my opinion, not all that hot, but a talented actress. I can watch her work without gagging or wincing.

I have The Sentinel waiting for me right now. I don’t know that much about it, but I do know that Michael Douglas is in it along with Mr. 24, Keifer Sutherland. From what I can tell, there are a lot of explosions, folks running around with guns drawn, helicopters zipping around, and Michael Douglas yelling. So as you can probably tell, I’m not knocking over any ladies or children to see it.

I received my DVD copy of The Tick Vs. Season One from Amazon last week. My nephew and I have been watching it, but I’m thinking that a lot of the parody stuff just flies right over his head. But the cool thing… He’ll grow into it. It will be like a light turning on inside his dark little skull.

If you haven’t seen The Tick, do yourself a favor… Check it out! It’s a parody about superheroes that aimed squarely at adults. But it’s tame enough for children. It’s a show worthy of 5 full stars, baby!

This weekend, I’m going to Top Soil Island with Coup Delicious. We’re working a beach wedding. From what I understand, the folks are getting hitched on the beach with a reception to follow.

For the record, I hate sand because it gets into everything. I don’t like it on my bare feet either. It feels “icky” to me and don’t even get me started about getting it in Roxy’s (my truck) interior.

I’m planning on taking my camera to grab a couple of shots for you readers.

Sorry to make this update so short, but I really have nothing to write about. I pretty much purged myself yesterday.
