Beastie Boys ‘Licensed To Ill’

My friend Tina attended the WWE event at the Greensboro Coliseum that was a complete cluster fornication. The event was cool, but they way the Coliseum handled the flow of people entering into the Special Events Center left a lot to be desired.

Other than my complaints about the high price of beer, having only 4 ways in for the fans was a complete disgrace. The line to get in ended out in the parking lots. I don’t know how many fans came to the event, but I’m sure several fans were born in the line and managed to celebrate a few birthdays before getting inside.

Even during the first two matches, people were still filing in. The management at the Coliseum should take a different approach next time. It was sad and I’m very surprised that no one in the lines got angry and violent. It was a damn disgrace and I wouldn’t be surprised if anyone attending the event was soured and will never go again.

Then Tina and I hit the Lawndale Drive-In for a few adult beverages. Even though I was taping the race to watch later, I couldn’t resist watching the last 32 laps there at the bar.

I was the only one yelling for Boris Said to win. And there was only one person that was upset that Jeff Gordon wrecked out of the race. It was because she had the number 24 car in some race pool. There was celebration and glass was clinking everywhere. It was amazing.

After Tony Stewart won the race, someone cranked up the Karaoke and that was our cue to leave.

I don’t know why, but I enjoy going to the Lawndale Drive-In. It’s a beautiful little dive and it’s the oldest bar in Greensboro. And even though there’s usually one guy who’s a walking Public Address System, I like going.

Believe it or not, I’m about to put March Of The Penguins into the DVD player and give it a spin. Part of me wants to see it and the rest of me couldn’t care less. I have a funny feeling that it’s going to be like sitting through the Sunday night church business meetings that I had to endure growing up with parents that attended every time the doors were open.

I just finished Band Of Brothers and I gave it 5 stars. And I’m sitting on disc 1 of the failed series Tru Calling. I’m not sure, but I’m thinking that Tru Calling was a precursor of Ghost Whisperer. To be honest, my interest lies in watching more and more of Eliza Dushku. MMMmm Hmmmm.

They list Tru Calling as season one, but I don’t think that it made it for another season.

Well, that’s pretty much it from me. Don’t forget, Benjomatic plays down at the Fun Fourth Festival in downtown Greensboro. They are hitting the Concert Stage on Friendly Avenue at High Noon. See ya there, and bring plenty of sunscreen.

Eugene out.

I can't wait to hear what you thought of March of the Penguins.

It was totally NOT my kind of movie, and I enjoyed it immensely.

I thought I was the only one who I liked Boris Said. We should start a fan club.

  3. Bebo,

I have been putting it off and watching, so far, a boring Tru Calling.

I will promptly let you know what I think.

  4. David,

To be honest, Boris Said is all right. I like underdogs and this cat has been trying to break into Nextel Cup for a couple of years now. The last two races should get him noticed.

And the more I read and see about this guy, the more I like him.

Perhaps we should start one.... HHmmmmmm

We were cheering for Boris too. Ma was even hoping he'd win even though she had Tony in the pool. I would have taken Boris over Tony, because then I wouldn't be out four bucks. I would have prefered one of the Busch brothers make the pass, but oh well... at least it wasn't Earnhardt.

So, what happened at the show? And by that I really just mean, who won the IC three-way and Kane/Orton matches. I would assume Johhny Nitro in the 3-way, since they don't do house-show title changes. I haven't been to a live show in a while. The last show we went to featured a Mr.America vs Shawn O'Haire main event. This was back when Team Angle and the Anti-Americans were stil around. Back when John Cena didn't suck. Those were the days.

  6. Yes Kim, Nitro won the 3-way so you would be right about house show title matches.

I was a little surprised when Kane jobbed out to Orton.

And we left once the Spirit Squad made their appearance. My friend Tina could only take so much.
