The Veronica's 'Secret Life Of The Veronica's'

This is the second year that I’ve been hearing all about Lent. So that means that I’ve been hanging out with more Catholics.

To be honest, I never paid any attention. I had the Baptist faith forced upon me and never really heard things from those “wrong” religions. And to this day, I still don’t know all that much about Lent and Mardi Gras. Should I care?

I hear people all around me talking about giving up things for Lent. I say to you, have at it.

I’m kind of peeved at my friend Brad. If you read the comments from time to time, Brad is the one that leaves those “smart-assed” ones. Well, Brad got married yesterday and left an email for me saying… “By the time you read this, I will be married.”

Jeez! I haven’t even met this woman yet and I’ve known him for 20 dad-gum years!

He even got hitched with a West Virginia Surf Report T-shirt on. Here’s the link… Or cut and paste it because I don’t know enough HTML to make a link.

Congratulations Brad! From the picture, you look happier than Jeff Gordon with a dildo.

Hey… If you’re giving something up for Lent, leave a comment and tell us what you’re giving up.

I’ll go ahead and give up something to get in with the spirit of things…. Hmmmm… I’ll give up lettuce. That’ll be easy because I never touch the stuff unless I’m peeling it off something.

“Baby steps, Gene, baby steps”… As Marcia Gan would say.

I have missed working out. I haven’t done it since I got that head cold last week. I’m actually feeling the itch and I haven’t quite had the chance to give it a scratch. I’ll be too busy tomorrow for a session so I’m thinking I’ll pick things up again on Friday.

I had dinner with my friend Tina this evening. We took a walk to Natty Greene’s and got a table. Is it me or is that place TOO DAMN LOUD when people are dining?

They could seriously use some sound baffles in the dining area. Does anyone else notice it?

At one point, I had to put in my earplugs because the chatter was starting to get on my nerves. That’s just another reason why I’m starting to like the Green Burro more and more. They’ve got carpeting to soak in all the chatter.

Well, that’s about all the time that I have. I didn’t write up an update at home. I did this at work and I need to work.

Thanks for checking in and reading. It is greatly appreciated.

My mother asked me what I was giving up for Lent this year. I answered, "Lent."

And Brad - congratulations to you and Wendy. Happiness and long life to you both.

Why should I introduce you to someone you would steal away with your looks and charm? I learned my lesson long ago.
