Snoop Dogg 'R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece'

I awoke Monday with what seemed to be an oncoming illness. I could feel the stuffiness in my head. And my ears were super-sensitive to anything making a sound. I could sense that a sore throat was coming along for the ride.

I picked up some Airborne tablets at Eckerd’s to stave off this germonic destroyer of feeling good and backed it up with some Sudafed PE.

I started feeling better and joined the Rachel Peterson birthday party later that night at Cooper’s Ale House. I started the evening off at the bar with several Beam and Cokes and eventually switched to beer when the party arrived. Our waitress, Becca, seemed quite amazed that I could easily drink a pint of beer faster than she could tend to our tables.

I started drinking what Brett and Rachel called “Red Fields”. It was the mixture of Red Oak and Battlefield beers from the Spring Garden Breweries. At first, it didn’t seem like drinking beer at all. It really didn’t have that much of a taste, but I had another and I may try it again when I’m at Cooper’s.

For those keeping track at home, Red Oak is my favorite beer. Now if only they would bottle it.

Have you noticed that the SciFi Channel has been showing the soap opera ‘Passions’?

Have you even seen it?

It can usually be found on NBC during the afternoons, that is, when there’s no stinking Olympic coverage.

It’s a very strange soap opera. It’s kind of like ‘Dark Shadows’ meets ‘Charmed’ and the ‘X-Files’. I saw a little bit of it yesterday and there was some kind of Corsican brothers’ thing going on. One chick was running from something in her dream as her “twin”(?) experienced heavy breathing and an increased pulse. There was a childlike dwarf and an old “witch” watching the effects on heavy breathing chick. When the dwarf spoke, it was like the voice of a 1,000 year old man.

The law enforcement officers were muscularly masculine with a handsome ruggedness. I suppose women like that sort of thing… But the show was just weird.

I guess that it’s fairly popular with stoners. I’m thinking about seeing more of this show just because it’s so damn weird.

Today I got all caught up in watching ‘Battlestar Galactica 1980’ on SciFi. Troy and Apollo seemed to have been replaced with different actors. One of them was from the old TV show ‘Adam-12’.

I was never a fan of ‘Battlestar Galactica’ when I was growing up. I spent most of my time with music and comedy programs on the tele. The only reason that I could see about watching that show was Erin Gray… Hubba hubba! I tried watching it when it came on after a Super Bowl game back when the “Orange Crush” from Denver was in effect, but I just didn’t cotton to it.

The show was just too “cutesy” with the kid and his robotic dog. I didn’t like it for the same reasons I didn’t like ‘Lost In Space’. I don’t like cutesy subplots in my TV shows.

Now the new ‘Battlestar Galactica’ on SciFi really looks good and I’ve heard nothing but good reviews from friends and critics. I’ve had it on my Netflix queue forever and it’s still on a “long wait”.

Speaking of Netflix… They’re back to “throttling” my DVD’s again. And now they’re attempting a very sneaky way to send us heavy users more. For like six bucks, they’ll gladly ship out the next one on the list. It’s like they’re charging us for a service that they should be doing in the first place. It’s like going to a restaurant and ordering your meal, but… You have to pay a rental fee for the chair and table to sit down and eat your food. What kind of crap is that?

If there’s a better game in town, I want to know about it because I’m getting sick of this type of practice from a company that stresses “unlimited” in their advertising.

Well, it’s time again to take some medicine and Airborne. I’m thinking about hitting the ABC store for some Rock n’ Rye to sweat this bug out when I go to sleep. It works almost every time for me.
