'The Non-Conformist Cult Radio Show (Date unknown)'

Sorry about not updating last night… I spent a little time with Kristina and somehow, she talked me into watching a movie that I had no desire to see… The Last Unicorn.

She had been talking about it and so we ventured over to Best Buy once we left our watering hole… O’Charley’s off Wendover. I felt like it had been released on DVD and if so, I’m sure Best Buy would have it. They did! She bought it along with a Brak Collection… You gotta respect a woman who digs on some Brak.

Once we got to her place, she suggested watching The Last Unicorn And I gotta be honest here… I had no desire to see it. She assured me that it wasn’t a musical so we popped that joker into the DVD player and I poured myself a little Jim Beam Black.

At first… I thought the animation was pretty bad, but I started to ignore that and paid attention to the storyline. The movie stars the vocal talents of Alan Arkin, Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges, and Christopher Lee (my all time favorite vampire). There’s this unicorn and she’s the last one. Blah, blah, blah…. The film is quite subversive in many ways. It’s all new age like and there’s even some cartoon nudity.

What???

Yes! The unicorn changes into a woman and she’s naked!

For some reason, I cannot wait to show my nieces and nephews this film. It’s very different from the typical crap released these days. It may even make them think.

But why someone asked Jeff Bridges to sing during this film is beyond me! He so totally sucks! And thankfully, he only has one musical number.

Simon Cowell would roll over in his grave if he were dead!

I must admit… I really dug that movie! And if I were to cast it for a live action remake… I have a few suggestions…

David Duchovny as Schmendrick and Rhea Perlman as Molly Grue…

And there’s others that I can’t find pictures of…. John Ratzenberger as Captain Cully… At least I think that was the character that I was thinking about.

As I understand it… There is a live-action remake in the works according to the stuff found on the Internet.

Now to some sad news… I spoke with Kristina a little while ago and she informed me that I’ll be getting no more Dick!

Yeah…. No more Dick Casablancas!

Veronica Mars has been cancelled! I’m so bummed out about it. I heard from Christine that since Gilmore Girls is going away… Veronica and crew may get a stay of execution. It’s so not the case.

Damn…

So I guess I will start buying up the DVD’s and cherishing the show all by my lonesome when it’s gone.

And btw… I never got approved as one of Dick Casablancas’ MySpace Friends.

Feel free to check out my own MySpace page. You can find out where Rock 92’s Rock n’ Roll Road Show is going to be and find out when I’m on the air. MySpace is all about shameless promotion and I’m about that, baby!

That is one of the funniest lines! For those of you that do not know... That line is from a cat that talks like a pirate... I recited that line several times.
