Jen ‘Airplane’

The title of each blog is the musical selection that I’m listening to for the day. For some reason, local North Carolina artists have been seeing the spotlight in my “rotation”. I’ve been listening to Evoka, Benjomatic, Cyril Lance, and today it’s Jen.

Jen released their CD a few years ago when I was doing a college radio show as well as working for Rock 92. They were a band out of Raleigh and after they released their debut CD, they broke up. I was thrilled to find my name in the “thank yous” on the back cover. It was a first for me, but it wasn’t the first time that my last name was spelled with two m’s. It’s cool though.

I’m almost finished with the entire series of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and I’m not sure how I’m going to react once I’ve seen them all. Since I wasn’t there when they ended on broadcast television, will I still have the same sadness that I experienced with the end of Malcolm in the Middle? Will I still have the same blues when I saw the last episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Enterprise?

Well, there’s my answer… I didn’t see the final episode of STDS9 until I caught them on the Spike Channel. I was a little sad during the last episode even though it was produced years before I got to it.

I still haven’t seen all the episodes of Star Trek: Voyager. But it’s on my Netflix queue. I don’t think that I’ll get too saddened by that one ending. Since what I saw of it wasn’t that impressive, I should be fine.

As you can tell, I really have nothing to write about today. I could tell you that I’m finally getting caught up on the whole series of The Matrix movies… That’s right… I haven’t seen them all. Before Monday, I had only seen the first one and now I’m expecting The Matrix: Revolution any day now from Netflix. But that would be as boring as the rest of this entry.

All right! I’ll end it because I have nothing.

I still miss Buffy, Willow, Faith, Spike and the rest of the Scoobies.

But not Angel. Don't miss him a bit.

  2. Yeah Brad... Although I wasn't very keen on the Angel series, I'm still thinking about adding it to my queue.

Angel was never so cool as when he was evil. Otherwise, he struck me as wishy-washy. (And his fake Irish brogue in every "flashback" episode made me cringe.)

As for Faith, I just don't like her, never will.

  5. I absolutely LOVE Faith! She's hot, she's sexy, and with the attitude to match.

Damn! I fuckin' loved season 3 of Buffy. And I'm enjoying her return to season 7.

And I added 'Tru Calling' to my queue along time ago. We have a poster of Eliza Dushku in the promotions office that I salivate over.

    MMmmmmmmm
