Various Artists ‘You’re No Ninja’ / Zamfir ‘Greatest Hits’

If you’re a regular reader of “Too Dangerous For Daylight”, then you already know that the title of each blog is the music that I’m listening to for the day.

And today, we reach a milestone. I’ve been listening to 2 CD’s for the day.

I just finished working out with ‘You’re No Ninja’ and wasn’t impressed by many of the artists. I couldn’t listen to it on repeat while I wrote this up so, I grabbed the next CD in the cycle and you see the result… Zamfir ‘Greatest Hits’.

I’m blaming it on Monday.

But I must admit, some of this Zamfir stuff is interesting. He’s like the Eddie Van Halen of the pan flute. The Brad Gillis of woodwinds. The Angus Young of wind sucking… Zamfir is da’ man!

And for you rap fans, he’s Kurtis Blow with some Beastie Boys.

Over the weekend, I watched a flick that Christine let me borrow. And let me preface it; I wanted to see this movie even thought it stars Keanu Reeves. It’s called ‘Constantine’.

It’s a comic book turned movie about a dude with a gift to see demons. When those demons cross the plane into our dimension, he sends them packing for the home fires below. He’s part Priest and part assassin. And, he’s trying to buy his way into Heaven because he’s on a suicide mission of some type. I can’t really remember though… But I do know that I really liked the movie to give it 4 out of 5 stars on Netflix.

The movie also brought up an inner discussion about religion. If you believe, it does exist. And with that in mind, I’m thinking about making up my own religion. I should go traditional and come up with a few ground rules…

And in no particular order…

Don’t start your day until 10 a.m.

Keep every race at Talladega holy and in high regards either in person or by viewing on television.

There is no socially unacceptable time during the day to start drinking beer.

No Christmas trees.

Publicly denounce Oprah Winfrey every chance given.

Sitcoms are better than “reality”.

Partake from Long John Silver’s spiritual and physical nourishment.

Rinse, lather, and repeat. But only once.

That should hold you over, converts. There will be more wisdom to come, my children. Honor these rules and whatever afterlife you conceive… It will be yours.

Glory be to the Bomb, and to the Holy Fallout. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end. Amen.
